How to keep your eyes on the prize

Accountants are in the past, managers are in the present, and leaders are in the future. – Paul Orfalea

You can only ever hold yourself, or others, accountable for past actions. You can only ever manage your present actions. But if you have the necessary foresight to look into the future and sketch a path of necessary behaviors, then you can lead yourself or others to new heights of success.

Case in point, leave the past behind you, take only from it what lessons you have learned that can better help you manage yourself in the present.

Live as much as possible in the present and always prioritize things that are time sensitive.

When you have the necessary time look forwards and judge the path you are treading. Make course adjustments where necessary and list out the necessary steps and behaviors necessary to be taken so as to achieve the goals you’ve set out to achieve. You’ll do fine.
