Humble leader, confident followers

Outstanding leaders go out of their way to boost the self-esteem of their personnel. If people believe in themselves, it’s amazing what they can accomplish. –  Sam Walton

Success is a numbers game. The more you go out there the more chances you get to strike it rich. Someone once told me that luck is when preparation meets opportunity. The preparation part is everything you do up to the point you go out, and opportunity is the chance you get if you go out often enough.

Another great way to boost success is by having people work with and for you. If you had a divine decree of only having 2% chance at success, that would bum you out. But if the heavens then said that you can clone yourself to 50 copies each identical with you in shared mind but with different bodies, than at 2% success rate times 50 you would have 100% success rate in all you would try out.

Now cloning isn’t feasible, but having people working with you is. And no matter how slim their chances at success are, if you factor in how many people there are, overall success chances increase.

Now that we have established how important the people who work with you are, I want to add how important they feel about that work is.

You see, another great way to boost your chances is by boosting the self esteem of your people. If they have greater self esteem this leads to greater self confidence with leads to more chances they will take which boosts their success rate. Remember, it’s a numbers game, and the more your people go out and swing, the more chances for a hit they get. And the more your people hit it, the more you succeed.

So take time to boost your employee morale. Keep an eye on mental health, and truly make it feel like a team effort. Share in the glory with them and as much as possible try and shield them from the burdens of failure. You’ll do fine.
